Cheryl Hudson Samples

She was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and the Billingsley Sunday School Class. Cheryl played oboe in the church orchestra for 20 years. She was a graduate of Samford University where she swam on the synchronized swimming team and was a member of the Society of Actuaries. She had been employed at Liberty National Insurance Company as an actuary before moving to Chattanooga to take a position with Unum Provident Insurance as an actuary, retiring from Unum after 24 years of service. A Master Gardner, she volunteered at Crabtree Farms and the Butterfly Exhibit at the Tennessee Aquarium. She was also a beauty consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics.

She was a loving and Godly wife to her husband, Michael Alan Samples and mother to her three daughters, Victoria (Didier) Carette, Beverly (Hunt) Jennings and Olivia Samples. Other survivors include her parents, Leonard and Mary Hudson; brother, Alan (Teresa) Hudson; sisters, Gloria (Buck) Witt and Ruth Hudson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Brainerd Baptist Church with the Rev. Alan Hudson and Bryan Skinner officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Tuesday at the Church.
