Charles Massey Hartline, Sr., 85, of Chattanooga died Friday, March 22, 2013. He was born October 07, 1927 in Wildwood, Georgia to the late Sidney James and Nettie Leah Massey Hartline. He was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Hartline, sisters Martha Lucille Hansberger and Virginia Ryan. He was a member of the Wauhatchie United Methodist Church. He was a 50 year member of the Lookout Valley Masonic Lodge F&AM # 673, the Alhambra Shrine and the Lookout Valley Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #483.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Benita Hartline; son Charles M. “Chuck” Hartline, Jr.; daughter Sandra Allison (Tommy Jr.) Jordan; brothers Tommy Hartline and Buford Hartline, sisters Carolyn Riley and Patsy Lynch; grandchildren Alex Hartline, Evan Jordan and Emeree Jordan.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Wauhatchie United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Akers officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens, West with Masonic graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home Monday from 5-9.
