Charles E. Broyles

Charles E. “Chuck” Broyles, 81, of East Ridge passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 in a local hospital. He was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church and the Pioneer Sunday School Class and was a trustee. Chuck was a graduate of the Indiana Institute of Technology and had been an electrical engineer with Combustion Engineering and Electric Motor Sales and was the owner of Electrical Control Systems, Inc. He was a veteran of the US Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence E. and Osa King Broyles.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Baker Broyles; daughter Debbie (Sput) Cothran; son, Barry D. (Sandy) Broyles; five grandchildren, Rachel (Arthur) Kuhn, Kelly Broyles, Audra (Shawn) Jarrett, Jared (Kayley) Cothran and Nikki (Sam) Leonard; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Joe (Phyllis) Broyles; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, 4131 Ringgold Road with the Rev. Dr. B. Eric Rieger officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Tuesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.
