Billy Tatum Martin, 72, of East Ridge passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 in a local hospital. He was a member of the former East Ridge Baptist Church and was retired from Polysar Latex (BASF). He was a graduate of Central High School class of 1959. Billy was an avid UT football fan and loved to talk football with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Eaker and his brother, Buford Alexander Martin, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Lusk Martin; two daughters, Kathy (Rickey) Proctor and Julia (Masa) Yamashita; five grandchildren, Kristina Elliott, Auguste Proctor, Tommy Yamashita, Amy Yamashita and Sky Yamashita; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Thursday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. The family will receive friends from 2-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
