Bill proudly served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1966, on the USS Yellowstone, and he served in the United States Air Force from 1977-1979, and then wrapped up his service in the TNANG where he dedicated several years to serving his country with honor.
Professionally, Bill was employed by Combustion Engineering, where he applied his skills and work ethic until his retirement. After eventually getting bored with retirement Bill went on to work in Pest Control where he earned the nickname “The Bugman”. Bill was an avid music lover and enjoyed many genres of music. He was a die-hard Georgia Bulldog fan and would watch or attend games as often as possible.
Bill was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Ray Breneman, his aforementioned parents, his sisters, Sandra Dyer, Donna Breneman, and Shirley Berger, and a brother, Jim Breneman.
Left behind to cherish Bill’s memory are his son, Chris (Tracie) Breneman, his grandchildren, Ashley; Allison; Cody (Casey); Justin (Jacy); and Trevor Breneman, and Shayann (Jeremy) Jones, 11 great-grandchildren, his brothers, Danny (Roberta) Breneman and Stevie Breneman, several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Tuesday November 26, 2024 at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. He will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors at 1:30 pm following the service.
