Betty Womack

Elizabeth “Betty” Womack, 94, of East Ridge, TN passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 in a local hospital. Betty had worked for a brief period as a kindergarten assistant at McBrien Elementary School. She was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and James Harrell; brother, James Harrell; daughter-in-law, Judy Womack; two sons-in-law, Randy Murdock and Gary Brady.

Survivors include her husband, Mark S. Womack, Jr.; two sons, Mark S. Womack, III, James Paul (Natalie) Womack, Lynn (Lee) Shelton, Vicki (Ronnie) Charlton, Mary Murdock, Lisa Brady and Laura (Joe) Myers; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, January 6, 2020 at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. B. Eric Rieger officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 PM Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road and from 10 AM – 11 AM Monday at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, 4131 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 6221 Shallowford Road Suite #102, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421.
