Barbara J. Denton, 81, of East Ridge passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019. She was a member of Spring Creek Church of God and the Auditorium Sunday School Class. Barbara was very active in her church having served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary and headed up the Hospital Ministry.
She was retired from Dupont.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Erskine and Sara Culpepper and 11 siblings.
Survivors include her husband, C.L. “Chuck Denton; daughter, Tammy (Doyle) Johnson; son, Mike (Tami) Reese; step-children, Charlene Denton and her twin brother, Charles B. Denton; one grandson, Jonathan Reese; brother, Jim Culpepper; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Gladys Satterfield, Bobby Holbrook and Suran Holbrook.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN and from 4-6 PM Wednesday at Spring Creek Church of God. Funeral services will be at 6 PM Wednesday at the Church with the Rev. Bennie Mills officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 10 AM on Thursday.
