Alvin Hobart Smith, 84, of Nashville passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017. He was born in Bryant, Alabama on April 15, 1933 to the late Alton and Frances Mason Smith. He was a member of the Wauhatchie United Methodist Church. Alvin was retired from South Central Bell and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife Saranell Davis Smith, sister Lois Moody, brother J.C. Smith.
He is survived by his son Roger F. Smith, sisters Nadine Meadows, Mae Jackson, brother Donald Smith, several nieces and nephews and caregivers George and Carol Kemble.
A graveside service will be 3:00 pm Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Lakewood Memory Gardens West with Darrell Smith officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that you make donations to the charity of your choice.
