Alice lived in several different cities throughout her life and enjoyed her experiences with each city she lived in.
In the summer of 1991 while attending the Bessie Smith Strut, which she attended every year, she became reacquainted with a high school friend and on October 2, 1992, Alice and Ed Austin were married and stayed married for 25 years.
Alice retired from the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Agency in 2012 after 15 years of service.
At the time of her death Alice was volunteering at Memorial Hospital in the surgery center waiting area.
Alice had a very strong love for animals and the beach. Her cat “Slick” was a big joy in her life.
Her son, Travis and grandson, Chandler were her pride and joy in life.
Alice was predeceased by her parents, Mabel and Harry P. Brady; her sister, Lenore Brady; and brother, Harry P. Brady, Jr.,
Alice is survived by her husband, Ed; son, Travis; and grandson; Chandler. She also leaves behind a sister, Betty Crowder; a niece, Patti Crowder; two brothers, Ted (Chig) Brady; and Dick (Shelia) Brady; and Steff Balentine who is a very special part of the Brady family.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 11:00 am on Friday February 16, 2018. The family will receive friends at the East Chapel on Thursday February 15, 2018 from 4 – 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
