I was introduced to Alice by Ed at a function at National Cemetery, (Memorial Day or Veterans Day), then most every year since, (sorry can not remember how long).  We would say "have not seen you since________________. "  "I told her it has been two or three weeks, and let go at that", and we did.  We would talk a while then I would excuse myself and go to "perform" in what ever I was to do.  Sure will miss her.  Hope to continue to see Ed.  


I had the privilege and honor of knowing Alice through Memorial Hospital. I looked forward to seeing her beautiful smile every time she volunteered in Surgery Services. She was such a lovely person and it shown through with everyone she met. I'm proud to have called her friend and will miss her dearly.

Alice was the most caring person in the world.  I loved volunteering with her every week.  She is greatly missed.

To Ed, my childhood friend & classmate and to Ted I want to say how shocked & saddened I am to hear about Alice.  She was a treasure!  Always laughing and smiling. I met her through my Norte Dame friends and became a friend of Teds. Ted & I corresponded while he was in Vietnam. Alice & I used to go to the intramural football games together every week in the fall. I wish I could have talked to her one more time to tell her what her friendship meant to me.  I think I did that a year & a half ago at Central HS 50th reunion. I sat with she & Ed. I treasure that night!  Love you both. My prayers are with you & the family as I know you must be heartbroken!  You have my prayers. My mom passed away last week at 91.  Her obituary appears in today's Chattanooga paper and her funeral is this Saturday here in Knoxville.  I sure wish I could have been there for you ❤

My sincere and heartfelt sympathy to Alice's family and all who knew and loved her.  She will be missed by many.  Rest in peace, Alice.

Alice will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her constant good will, kindness, faith, ready humor, and straight-forward honesty made her many life-long friends. Her colleagues at the city's Regional Planning Agency held her in esteem. And even as her health declined the past few years following her retirement she volunteered to help others at Memorial Hospital, taking patients around in wheel chairs to their next appointment. Her goodness will follow her.

Alice, hearing that you were feeling better I had recently spoken to a friend about visiting with you again since we had such a nice time when you were at Siskin. Now I'm just so sad we didn't get the chance to do that.  You were such an awesome lady (an ole hippy as you used to say).  You had an amazing spirit with such spunk! I was so glad to have you as a co-worker and I've missed you a lot.  Peace be with you and I'm wishing for lots of strength for Ed, Travis, and the rest of your family.

Alice, thank you for being such a kind and caring person.  I will always remember your beautiful smile and your laughter.  You and your family  will remain forever in my heart.
