Mr. Emery Moore Lowry, Jr., age 86, of College Park, GA passed away on June 24, 2013. Known jokingly as "Lil' Em" through his college years, Mr. Lowry was a 6'4" strikingly handsome man who played basketball at Howard College and later officiated the game. While in college, Emery met and married the love of his life, Peggy Baker Lowry, who preceded him in death in 2011 after 62 years of blissful marriage. Through the years, Mr. Lowry was a faithful Christian, a devoted husband and father, an avid golfer, badminton and tennis player, and a perennial beachgoer. He was a salesman for Nabisco for 25 years and an active, founding member of the Westside Christian Church, and later in life, a member of the East Point Christian Church. He is survived by children Paul Gordon Lowry, Julie Lowry Pilchard and David Scott Lowry; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Lowry is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Baker Lowry, Steven Joseph Lowry, and Margaret Lowry Touchberry. Services honoring his life will be officiated by Dr. Hoyt Johnson and Rev. Bob Tyler.
