William J. Parr

William Joseph “Bill” Parr, 77, of Sparland IL, formerly of Peoria, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2014. He was born on April 2, 1937 in Metamora, Illinois to Henry M. Parr and Bertha M. Waldschmidt. He married Pearl L. Frazell on September 1, 1966. His parents, wife, two brothers, one sister and one son preceded him in death.

Surviving are his two sisters Muriel J. Parr-Field of California and Marlene H. Parr-Baker of Sigel IL; his sons, Kevin J. Parr of Oregon, James A. (Lisa) Parr of Avon IL, Warren J. Parr-Whitehurst of Sparland, IL and Steven V. Parr of Peoria, IL; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Bill worked for Hiram Walkers in Peoria for 26 ½ years and was a member of St Boniface (St Ann) Church. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and family and he always helped people out when they needed it.

He was taken care of by Larry Whitehurst, Eldon Reed and Warren Whitehurst for his last remaining three years of his life.

Services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with Chaplin Steve Drennan officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. In lieu of flowers can be made to OSF Hospice of Peoria.
