William G. Wright, 93, of East Peoria, Illinois passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at Grand Victorian in Washington, Illinois with his family by his side. He was born May 31, 1921 in Peoria, Illinois to Lloyd and Marie (Mitzelfelt) Wright. He married Margaret “Marge” Adolphson on December 24, 1952 In Peoria, and later Frances Larson, both precede him in death.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He retired from Caterpillar in 1977 after thirty-three years of service as a machinist in East Peoria. Bill’s memberships included Hilton Lodge 1143 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Peoria, Mohammed Shrine of Peoria, U.A.W. Local 974, and V.F.W. Post 2078 in East Peoria. His hobbies included traveling and square dancing where he belonged to the Bells and Bows Square Dance Club and the Caterpillar Square Dance Club.
Surviving are his nieces Judy (John) Lykins of Washington, IL, Debbie (Brad) Williams of Washington, IL; nephews Bill (Rose) LaBerdia of Dunlap, IL, Curt Tittle of Groveland, IL; and numerous great nieces and great nephews. Bill was preceded in death by two sons, Bradley and Gary Wright and his sister Rhoda Tittle.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Pastor Kent Smith will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
