Walter Lee Addis was born on July 31, 1952 to Donald and Katie Addis. He died on August 5, 2020, leaving behind his wonderful wife of 45 years, Gloria (Kirby), his two sons, Bill Addis (Darc) and Daniel Addis (Shana), and four grandsons, Zakk Addis 15, Ben 10, Tucker 8 and Brecken 6.
Walter grew up in Peoria, IL, graduating from Woodruff HS in 1970. He worked on cars, and had a love for Mustangs, especially his SHELBY GT. He then worked at CAT as a Calibration Engineer where he retired after 43 years.
Walt was an avid water skier and a member of the Ski Kats Club. He enjoyed water aerobics at Impact Fitness in Morton, IL and water volleyball with Gloria and friends, which quickly became and obsession for a couple of years :).
He was a phenomenal guitar player. He played in two local rock and roll bands, Purple Legion and Kasino over the past 45 years and up until his passing. His band members will miss him deeply.
When his grandsons grew up, they loved Papa's music. They enjoyed watching him play in local venues across the city whenever possible.
Of all the things Walt enjoyed, most important was his family. It is what he work for, lived for and loved for. Watching his grandsons play basketball and baseball was at the top of his list, and he rarely missed a game.
Rest easy, Papa. Rock on until we get there. Miss you <3
