Steven Rae Athens, age 75, of East Peoria, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. He was born on May 15, 1947 in Peoria to Frank and Dorothy Athens. He married Brenda Knox on July 14, 1984. She survives.
He is also survived by his children, Mina (Don) Howard, Nick (Crystal Crotts) Trobaugh, and Carla Wilson; Grandchildren, Tyler Rae Donell Trobaugh, Bandon Austin Cotton, Shadrick NaKyle Cotton, Danielle Crotts, Crystabelle Crotts, Alexis Crotts, Hayden Crotts, Dianne Crotts; Great-Grandchildren, Bre'Asia Wilson-Cotton and Heaven Wilson-Cotton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Athens.
Steven was known for his love of his wife and kids as well as the need to " go fast".
Arrangements have been entrusted to Remmert Funeral Home. A private Graveside Service will be held at Minier Cemetery.
