

He was born March 20, 1950 in Jonesboro, AR to William and Julia (Wicker) Gambill. They preceded him in death along with one daughter, Candace Gambill and one sister, Punkie.
Survivors include one daughter, Brandy (Jason) DeBusk of Albers, IL, one son, Stanley (Michelle) Gambill of East Peoria, and four grandchildren including Mackenzie, Cade, Nash, and a fourth on the way. He was also survived by one brother, Elvis (Shirley) Gambill of East Peoria, his loving companion, Mary Mahring of Creve Coeur, her two sons, Scott (Makenzie) Mahring and Jeremy Mahring, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Stanley was a retired concrete laborer who worked out of Local 231 in Pekin. He worked for such companies as C.A. Powley and C and G Concrete Construction.
In his younger days, Stanley was active in many Morton and Peoria bowling and softball leagues. He always loved motorcycles and all type of racing and hot rods. In his more recent years, Stanley enjoyed golfing with friends and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He never met a stranger and always ran into someone he knew no matter where he was, and his laughter was as genuine as his soul.
Visitation will be Wednesday Aug. 26, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Funeral services will be Thursday Aug. 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
There will be a bike procession to the burial at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria following the services.
