Ronald D. Barnhill

Ronald was born September 8, 1942 in Ballard County, KY to Virley and Applileen (Rollins) Barnhill. He graduated from East Peoria Community High School. Ronald married Jeannie Ruth King on April 20, 1962 in East Peoria. She precedes him in death.

He is survived by: Children; Rod (Dona) Barnhill of Troy, MO, Rick (Julie) Barnhill of Galesburg, IL, Trisha (Mark) Lowman of Nauvoo, IL, Tammie (Jeremy) Stedman of Tremont, IL, Brother; Bobby (Carolyn) Barnhill, of East Peoria, Sister; Joan (Larry) Cunningham of Blairsville, GA, Sister in Law; Gloria Barnhill, of East Peoria, IL, Grandchildren; Brett, Corey (Emily) Barnhill, Kristen (Andy) Draughan, Ricky (Brittani) Barnhill, Patrick Barnhill, Luke and Jacob Lowman, Logan and Chase Stedman, and several nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by his parents, and one brother; Clifford Barnhill.

Ronald worked for Caterpillar as a welder for over 30 years, and retired in 2004. He was a member of the McArthur Drive Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved to play music. He also enjoyed traveling, watching western movies, hunting and fishing. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Services for Ronald will be held at 10 AM, Monday August 4 at McArthur Drive Baptist Church in North Pekin. Pastor Bobby Barnhill will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday August 3, 2014 from 4 – 6 PM at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, and Monday from 9 AM until the time of service at church. Burial will be held in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
