Randall “Randy” Peter Neumann, 56 of Peoria, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at his home in Peoria. Randy was born October 17, 1959 in Peoria to immigrant parents Hermann and Wally (Polakow) Neumann. He was raised from his early teens in the home of Calvin and Wally Webber. He was always considered their oldest son. He married Cheryl Herrin in 1977. To that marriage was born Nicholas Calvin Neumann, who preceded his father in death on June 18, 2013. Randy was also preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his birth father. Surviving are his parents; his sister, Debbie (Terry) Johnson; brothers, Scott (Amy) Webber, Curtis (Laurie) Webber; 5 nieces; 1 nephew; and 4 great nieces. He graduated from East Peoria High School. Randy began his adult life working for Chris Hoerr Food Distribution in East Peoria. He lived in several southern states including Texas, Florida and Tennessee where he worked in transportation and warehousing and Georgia where he worked in construction before returning to Peoria in 1998 to continue construction work. Randy battled many demons in his life and during his long struggle he was never without the support of his sister Debbie. She was always there when he needed her most. More than siblings, they were best friends. His family could not be more happy and proud that he finally turned his life around and accepted Christ as his savior and is now at peace with his son in Heaven. Randy was a friend to all. He always tried to respond to those in need and looked for ways to help others. He never knew a stranger and was liked by all that knew him. His greatest joy was watching his mother’s face glow when he assured her he was happy with his life and free of the demons that plagued him for so long. He was loved and will be dearly missed by his family. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 411 W Lake St, Peoria, with visitation one hour prior to services. Cremation will be accorded by Remmert Funeral Home of East Peoria following the service. Memorials are suggested to the Peoria Rescue Mission.
