Michael A. Jones

He was born June 14, 1947 in Pekin to William and Mildred (Orndoriff) Jones. He married Christine Lutz (his partner for 21 years) on Jan. 31, 2012 in Indianapolis, IN. She survives along with his one daughter, Jennifer Jones of Peoria, one son, Mike (and his Fiancé, Katie Kuntz) Jones of Morton, four grandchildren, one sister, Cheryl (George) Witt of East Peoria, and one brother, Robert (Sally) Jones of Lowell, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, William Ray Jones and Brian Jones.

He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran.

Michael was a Laborer working out of the Pekin Laborers Local 231 for 30 years. He retired from Otto Baum in 2007.

He was a member of the Morton American Legion Post 318, and a lifetime member of the Morton VFW Post 5921.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A memorial service will be Thursday Aug. 30, 2012 at 5 p.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
