After marrying, she and Richard moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia while Richard was on active military duty in the Navy. They later returned to the Peoria area, started a family, and eventually built a home in East Peoria. Marge was not just a homemaker while the children were growing up. She was an amazing, caring, and loving mother and wife and eventually grandmother. She took pride in her family and was an excellent role model. While raising her children, she was employed as a seamstress / tailor for Jerry’s Men’s Shop for many years, then as a bookkeeper for Muller Electric. Marge enjoyed over forty years of exercise classes with her dear friends. She also took water classes and made many friends at the River Plex. She still was very close to her high school friends called the “Gofur Girls”. She enjoyed camping, boating, traveling and spending time by the ocean, sewing, reading and shopping. Marge was a kind and thoughtful person, who always focused on the positive and bright side of life. She was a fighter…having dealt with and battled cancer five times throughout her life. She never gave up. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She made the world a brighter and happier place. She will be greatly missed by so many. The family would like to thank her wonderful physicians, Dr. Fenton, Dr. Kugler, Dr. Radee, Dr. Meriden, Dr. Morton, Dr. Gerstner and Dr. Wyman who helped her throughout her life. We also want to thank the wonderful nurses, aids, staff and physical therapists at Riverview, especially Jeannette and Allison, who she had a special connection and friendship. The family also thanks Sam, Marge & Dick’s devoted and loving homecare giver. Cremation rites will be accorded.
