She was born on May 30, 1948 in Elgin, IL to Bernard Burdette and Dorothy Mae (Overturf) Hill. She married Floyd W. Belcher on October 2, 1965 in Creve Coeur. He preceded her in death on June 21, 2018 in East Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her three children, Jacky Lynn (Sam) Kent of East Peoria, Jeffrey William (Ursula) Belcher of Greenwood, S.C., and Brandy Nicole (Robert) Parn of Morton; five grandchildren, Lauren Kent, Nathan Kent, Emma Kent, Macy Parn and Eli Parn; two sisters, Georgia (Ben) England and Nedda (Ace) Ashley; and her beloved dog Buddy.
Linda was a dedicated wife and mother. She was a true people person and loved to talk and tell stories to others. She loved to spend time with her family and was always interested in helping and hearing about what was going on in others’ lives. She was a source of information for everyone. She loved to read, garden, flowers, word searches, casinos, and going to garage sales. She enjoyed finding a good bargain. She also loved hummingbirds and cardinals. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and she will be deeply missed.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of Linda’s life will be at 5 pm on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Pastor Craig will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
