Leonard E. Biggs

Leonard was born July 6, 1926 in Peoria, the son of Leonard L. & Beulah (Keil) Biggs. He married Kathryn Saurs who preceded him in death on December 22, 1980. He later married Gail E. Roller June 4, 1983.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years and his sons; Patrick of Marquette Heights, Michael (Gina) of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Patrick of N. Carolina, Jason of Kansas, Kristie of Normal, and David of New York; one step-son and one step-daughter; four step-grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Leonard was also preceded in death by his daughter Vickie Biggs, daughter-in-law Becky, and one sister.

He worked for the City of East Peoria until he retired in 2007. He was a Navy Veteran. He was a member of Hilton Lodge # 1143 of East Peoria.

Leonard was a member of First Christian Church in Peoria.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 29, 2012 at Remmert Funeral Home. Rev. Karen Merrick will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Fondulac Township Cemetery in East Peoria.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to TAPS or a charity of the donor’s choice.
