JoAnn Peterson

She was born June 2, 1933 in Peoria, IL to Elmer and Ann (Mellon) Shields. She married Leslie Earl Peterson, Sr. on January 10, 1951 in Peoria. He survives of East Peoria.

Also surviving are; four children, Les Peterson, Jr. of Morton, Debra Lowman of East Peoria, Linda (Doug) Randall of Creve Coeur, and Robert Peterson of Washington; six grandchildren, Joy (Eric), JR (Sarah), Mark, Luke, Noah and Logan; and four great grandchildren, Zachary, Ethan, Haley and Charlotte.

She was preceded in death by her stillborn son, Joseph; her stillborn granddaughter, Christa; three brothers and three sisters.

JoAnn was a loving wife, who took good care of her husband; mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved the holidays and always made them special. She was happiest when she found the perfect gift for everyone.

In her younger days, JoAnn worked at the Flamingo Club in Peoria.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in East Peoria. The Rev. Fred Doughty will officiate. Burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery in Morton. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 am Tuesday at the church.
