Born January 27, 1933 in Peoria to George and Pauline (Curtis) Hinton; he married Ann Martin on April 20, 1952 in East Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Chris Hilton (Larry Eaker) of East Peoria, Jim Hinton of Canyon Country, California, and Diane (Robert) Vetter of Toledo, Ohio; grandchildren, Josh (Sarah) Hilton, Alyssa (Chase) Fairbanks, Danielle Roach, Travis Roach and Jared Hinton; great grandchildren, Peyton, Sophia, and Bryce Fairbanks and Alivia Roach; and sister, Jean Elam of Morton.
Preceding in death were his parents, brother, Jerry and two grandsons, Myles Hinton and Tyler Roach.
Jack was proud of his service in the Army during the Korean War.
Following his time in the service he became a Fire Fighter with the East Peoria Department. In 1964 he turned his focus to a career in Real Estate which culminated in his ownership of Century 21 Lincoln National Realty where he also served as the broker.
Jack belonged to several professional organizations including National, Illinois and Peoria Area Association of Realtors. He was dedicated to the real estate profession serving as President of the Peoria Area Association in 1973. He also served as President of the Central IL Homes Guide for a number of years.
The most important thing to Jack was his family. He also enjoyed traveling extensively around the country with Ann in their motor home. Jack also loved spending time with family and friends boating and fishing. He had been a member of Wharf Harbor and EastPort Harbor. He had a passion for antique cars and had enjoyed riding his motorcycle until just a couple months ago.
Visitation will also be 4:00 to 6:00 pm Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Remmert Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Friday, July 13, 2018 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with additional visitation 30 minutes prior to the service. The Rev. Robert L DeBolt will officiate. Burial will follow at Fondulac Township Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warriors Project or Army Emergency Relief.
