Born July 13, 1938 in Peoria, IL to Harold Chester and Julia (Belk) Nyberg; he married Carolyn Rhodes on July 11, 1960 in Jefferson City, MO. She survives.
Also surviving are their children, Cindy (Bob) Koepp, Vicky (Brian) Bamber, Sheila Leach, Thomas Nyberg, and William (Lindsey) Nyberg; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and they were foster parents to over 35 children over the years.
He was preceded in death by his son, Harold Thomas Nyberg Jr.
He always asked everyone he met for a smile and when he shook hands he passed them a piece of candy.
Tom’s funeral will be at 10:00 am Monday, February 6, 2017 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with visitation 30 minutes prior to the funeral. Rev. Les Meadows will officiate. Burial will follow at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
