She was born Sept. 10, 1924 in Kewanee, IL to Bert and Ester (Winter) Martin. She married Harold L. Hall on Dec. 23, 1945 in Rock Island, IL. He passed away Jan. 8, 1970. She was also preceded in death by one brother, William D. Martin, two sisters: Mae De Decker, Eva Jane Anderson, and a son-in-law, Samuel Wilson.
Survivors include four daughters: Susan (Loren) Eisner, Bonnie (David) Anderson, Barbara Wilson, Kathie (Randal) Schwindenhammer, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy graduated from Wethersfield High School in 1941. She worked for 21 years at Telephone Answering Service.
She enjoyed reading, playing cards, trivia, puzzles, and The CUBS. She volunteered at Proctor Hospital and Wildlife Prairie Park. She was also a member of Sunnyland Christian Church.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 30, 2023 at 12 Noon at the Sunnyland Christian Church. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at the church. Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
Private burial will be Tuesday Jan. 31, 2023 in South Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee, Il.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association or the Sunnyland Christian Church.
