Dorothy "Dottie" A. Brooks

Dorothy was born June 29, 1943 in Hartley, Delaware to James and Janette (Rosengren) Cox. She married James Brooks on August 12, 1961 in Bradenton, FL. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2002 in Peoria. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Robert and Fritz Cox; and one sister, Barbara Green.

Surviving are her two daughters, Teresa J. (Gary) Deweese of Hopedale and Lori A. (Bruce) Breiner of Tremont. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Michael J. Deweese, Hailey N. Deweese, Tyler (April) Hutchison and Ashley (Daniel) Lowrance; three great-grandchildren, Eli Deweese, Annora and Silas Hutchison; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, and crocheting, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

A funeral service will be at 11 am on Saturday, October 8, 2022 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Morton.
