Crystal Marie Bonds

Born August 24, 1943 in Peoria to Melvin and Marie (Settles) Yates; she married Larry Bonds on July 12, 1968 in Peoria and he survives of East Peoria.

While Larry made a career by serving 30 years between the USMC and US Army; Crystal was a devoted military wife, traveling the world with him from post to post.

Also surviving are three children, Angela Bonds (Jeff Warren), Kerri Bonds (Mike Straker) and Larie (Ashley) Bonds, all of East Peoria; her step-son, Clinton Bonds of Louisiana; her step-daughter, Angela Timmerman of Arkansas; six grandchildren, George, Chris, Crystal, Kaleb, Taylor and Tiffiny; five great grandchildren; her brother, Ray (Joy) Benja of Peoria; and her sisters, Grace Allen and Anna Benja both of Peoria.

Preceding in death were her parents; her son, Donny Allen; her grandson, DonDon; her sister, Opal Cherokee Patton and her brother, Pete Yates.

Crystal was an amazing woman who put everyone’s needs in front of her own. Her love knew no boundaries. She would welcome a stranger into her home with the same smile and love she showered on her own family. She was truly a gift from above and will be sincerely missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was a member of The Journey Church of East Peoria where visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday, September 8th with the funeral service at 10:00 am on Friday, September 9th. The Rev. Brock Winkler will officiate. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
