Born December 18, 1935, in Pekin to Addison and Gertrude (Wilder) Elliott. He married Joann Taylor on June 4, 1955, in Pekin. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2023, in their home in Pekin.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother Joseph Elliott, a daughter Donna Vollmer, and a grandson Bobby Vollmer.
He is survived by his son, Cliff (Linda) Elliott Jr., of Pekin, five grandchildren, Dustyn (Lucy) Elliott of Peoria, Sherin (Phil) Kunz of Morton, Breyan (Wes Fuller) Vollmer of Manito, Jeremy (Ashley) Elliott of Pekin, and Josh (Emily) Elliott of Dunlap, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Cliff retired from Williams Energy on February 1, 1999, after 46 years of service. He devoted his life to Joann, his dearly loved wife of 68 years, along with his kids and grandkids. He loved family cookouts and fish fries, holiday celebrations, playing washers, fishing, camping, sharing stories, taking walks, bowling, shopping at Kroger and his beloved St. Louis Cardinals.
He was a member of Oak Grove Bible Church where he was a part of various men's groups and activities. He loved talking to people and doing things for them and put that into action as he and Joann served the Lord and their church as custodians of Oak Grove for many years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 12, 2024, with visitation from 9:30 AM until the start of the service at Oak Grove Evangelical Bible Church in East Peoria. The Rev. Mark Friday will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
