Betty June Rea

She was born on June 24, 1935 in Gridley, IL to Alvin and Lorrine (Shoup) Waters. She married Leroy B Rea on September 15, 1951 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2009 in East Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sons Larry Rea and Michael Rea.

Surviving are four children, Barbara Harris of Morton, David (Carol) Rea of Mooresville, IN, Dale (Lisa) Rea of Spring Bay, and Darryl (Theresa Colclasure) Rea of Goodland, Indiana. Also surviving are six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Bev (Jerry) Case.

Betty worked for Methodist Hospital as a Dietary Supervisor for 15 years before retiring. She then worked at the Snack Bar at Ventures Department Store until it closed. Betty enjoyed camping and listening to Bluegrass Music and she attended Cross Points Community Church.

A service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 12:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Burial will follow the service at Secor Cemetery in Secor, IL.
