Beatrice Marie (Stilley) Scott, 86, of East Peoria, Illinois, passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton. In her final days she was surrounded by her family, closest friends, and many visitors.
Bea was born to Dallas and Opal (Reynolds) Stilley on July 6, 1936, in Herod, Illinois. She attended a one-room grade school and then graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1954. On June 29, 1957, she married Thomas E. Scott in Harrisburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2002. She is also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Bob and Bill Stilley.
She is survived by her three children: Kevin (Mary) Scott of Edelstein, Illinois; Kimberly Schertz of Hudson, Illinois; and Kristi (Jeff) Turner of Hopedale, Illinois. She adored her seven grandchildren: Kelly (Tony) Bowman; Michelle (John) Lidvall; Eric Scott; Brian and Michael Schertz; and Alyssa and Emma Turner. She was Gigi to five great grandchildren: Jaxon, Mason, and Brooks Lidvall; and Anders and Mary Bowman.
Bea was a homemaker who loved God, Bible studies, Southern Gospel music, and having Good News Kids Clubs in her home for neighborhood kids. She loved her family, and especially the grandkids’ visits and sleepovers. She and Tom were avid travelers and she enjoyed baking, flower gardening, rocks, and shopping—especially for others. Friends and family will miss her dearly.
The family is grateful for the loving care she received at Restmor.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022, at New Castle Bible Church, 17931 Dee-Mac Road in Mackinaw, with a graveside burial service immediately following in the New Castle Cemetery adjacent to the church. Pastor Philip Somers and Kevin Sauder will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Remmert Funeral Home, 521 E. Washington Street in East Peoria, and Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 9:00-10:45 a.m. at New Castle Bible Church prior to the funeral service.
