Sorry for your loss.  I only know Rue through her dad, Lewis.  But, I know Rue is close to her grandparents since they raise her and her brother.  I hope things may be less of a shock since a little time has passed.  It is always difficult to lose someone you love.  Remember the good things and pull them into your thoughts when you feel sad. I am so sorry for your loss. I always left the beauty shop in a good mood after getting my hair trimmed by Barb. I will always miss her voice, laugh and conversation. She was the best.

I met barb years ago when my grandma Anna Gaskins & aunt Becky Davies would go see her or Juanita at JCPenney salon. I reconnected with her when I worked at CEFCU back in 1988. Am go glad I got to meet barb as she had an awesome personality & just a great person in general. Am so sorry that God took her away too early, she will be dearly missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  May God heal your hearts and replace each tear with a sweet memory.  Rest in peace Barb.

I met Barb while going threw treatment together..We encourage each other everyday..when I first met her it seemed I known her for years.I'm so sorry to hear of her passing..Barb from reading all of these message you ARE one Heck of a lady..The last time I talked to Barb she had just gotten out of the Hospital n told me what to expect n do what they told me to do n it will be ok.Now I have a precious guardian angel..

I met Barb when she fixed my grams hair.  Even though I could not see her I could hear in her voice she was a good person.  She treated me very nice and encouraged me in my ICC  accomplishments.  I am sorry to hear of her passing.  I hope you all find comfort in her memories.

Dear Roger, Mr. & Mrs. Bowen and families:  I am absolutely heartbroken that our Barb is not with us anymore. The day she told me she had cancer I prayed with her and she told me "Hey kid...what will be, will be!"   But I never thought we would lose her so soon. When I visited her in the hospital after her surgery, we prayed and she told me God had blessed her life more than she could have ever imagined with Roger at her side.  She always talked about us getting the 'good guys'. I visited her again in the hospital after the stroke, I prayed with her and Roger that God would release the gentle soul lying in that bed, if it was His will. She  gripped my hand and she looked like sleeping beauty.  I am going to miss her so much, we were like sisters.   Barb was like an Angel here on earth, but her work must have been done because God called her home.  I am so glad she will be up there waiting to see us all one day.  But she will be so missed here on earth.  God bless you all and thank you for letting me share in her life.

My thoughts and prayers are with roger, the girls and grandchildren.  Barb was a very special person. She was so caring and loving to all she knew. Barb will always hold a special place in my heart! I have know her since I was a little girl and my mom would get her hair done by barb. She has styled my mothers , mine and last year she cut my 6 year old daughters hair for the first time. We all thought that was a big deal, three generations with barb!  She was like another big sister to me. I will miss her dearly! I am thankful for all the wonderful memories, all the good conversations and laughs we had together. She truly is an angel rest in peace my dear friend ! Roger, and family, we are so sorry for your loss.  Barb has been a Very Dear Friend to our family for over thirty years.  I started getting my hair done by her in the early 80's.  She was always so sweet and so much fun to be around.  I always looked forward to times spent with her.  She had a beautiful smile that would light up a banquet hall, and the cutest laugh ever!   She was so kind and caring toward my elderly mother when she would come to her home to do her hair.  My mother loved her dearly, just as we all did.  She was like a sister to us.
