William D. Parsley, age 85, died November 22, 2014. He was born September 11, 1929, in Cary IL to William and Rose (Raska) Parsley. Mr. Parsley was Valedictorian of his High School, attended Xavier College, and then Harvard where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1954. He was also a member of the editorial board on the Harvard Law Review. He honorably served in the U.S. Army 1954-1957 and, married Ruth Virginia Galbraith August 30, 1955. Mr. Parsley was a senior partner at the Loomis Law Firm; past Director of the Rotary Club; very involved in the Roman Catholic Diocese and Society of St. Vincent DePaul.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; parents; and grandson, Anthony R. Parsley.
Surviving are his 2 daughters, Ann Elizabeth Parsley and Mary Kay Nichols; son, Michael (Jen) Parsley; daughter-in-law, Beverly Parsley; 4 grandchildren, Duncan Titus, Kaitlyn Rose Parsley, Billy Parsley, and Carley Bryers. one brother, Thomas (Patricia) Parsley; and one sister, Rose (Dan) Suffoletto.
The Funeral Mass will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing, MI.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI 48823 with the Rosary being prayed at 7:00 PM.
