Tom, known as “Bump” to his beloved grandchildren, was born in Lansing to Herbert and Bertha (Clay) Heniser on December 11, 1950. He spent his childhood and attended school in East Lansing, where he later raised his own family. Tom worked for Motor Wheel for 20 years before finishing out his career as a custodian at National Heritage Academy in Lansing. He also served in the Army National Guard, and was a member of Williamston Masonic Lodge #153 since 2008. Tom’s favorite job was being Bump and he doted on his many grandchildren.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents and wife Rosemary (Flewelling) Heniser.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline, sister Carolyn (Heniser) Devers, children Jim (Stephanie) Parsons Jr., Thomas (Martha) Heniser Jr., Jason Parsons, Trisha (Paul) Donahue, Pauline Lienhart, Casey Lienhart, and Frank Lienhart and his adoring grandchildren, James III, Morgan and Rosemary Parsons, AJ Quintel, Cody and Madalynn Heniser, Belle and Tony Meeker, Talan and Riker Parsons, Aubrey and Riley Donahue, Ian, and Zane Wix, Julia Marino, and Sophie Lienhart.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI 48823. The family will receive visitors Friday, May 20, 2022 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m and Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 10:00 - 10:30 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Roger Flewelling Jr., David Flewelling Sr., Les Flewelling, Barry Arndt, Eli Eastman, Jon Chick, and Jason Parsons.
