Shirley A. Foote

Shirley Ann Foote, 86, of East Lansing, Michigan passed peacefully on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2016 at her home. Shirley was the wife of 50 years to Donald L. Foote, 1929-1998, the mother of eight children, the grandmother of thirty-one grandchildren, the great-grandmother of eight great grandchildren, and a believer in Jesus Christ. Shirley was born in Jackson, Michigan, attended Eastern High School in Lansing, Michigan at the time she met Don, and lived her adult life entirely in East Lansing, including the last 56 years in the home in which she passed. An avid gardener, tennis player, Grandma's Big Red Bus driver, and charitable giver, Shirley will be remembered for her sweet and thoughtful legacy. Shirley is survived by her eight children: Rhonda Foote Judy, Cheryl Foote Groenendyke (Richard) and their 2 children, Barbara Foote Shingleton (Bradford) and their 3 children, Susan Foote (Stephen Feinberg), Kenneth Foote (Mamie) and their eight children, David Foote (Amy) and their 6 children, Frederick Foote (Theresa) and their 6 children, and Steven Foote (Lynne) and their 6 children. All her grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive Shirley. A public visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing, on Wednesday February 17, 2016 at 6:30 to 8:30 pm, and a private funeral will follow subsequently. Interment will be at Deepdale Memorial Park. Shirley was an Honorary Fellow and Board Member Emeritus of the Cleveland Clinic. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to: Lerner College of Medicine, Health Education Campus, c/o James B.
