Ronald (Ron) Frank Romanowski (71) of East Lansing, said his final goodbye September 24th. He was born in Detroit, MI to Frank and Frances (Maciejewski) Romanowski. He was an alumni and ardent fan of Michigan State University from which he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1993. He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved to fish, hunt, golf and in his younger years, wore out a great deal of people on the racquetball court. He was known as the class clown growing up and he made us laugh all the time. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. In addition to his education at MSU, he earned multiple degrees from Spring Arbor College and Lansing Community College, including an additional Bachelor of Arts. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. As he parts, in his own words, “Klaatu barada nikto, Ron out.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert (Bobby) Romanowski, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Mott.
Ron is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Romanowski (Hundt), sons; Michael Romanowski (Emily), David Romanowski (Beth) Chad Schaaf, and John Schaaf (Meggin); older sister, Leuann Mott; sister-in-law Dolores (Dory) Romanowski; Grandchildren; Drew and Conner Romanowski, Alex and Nathan Schaaf, and Madison, Gabriella, and Elijah Schaaf.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2016,11:00 a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
