Rollin, fondly known as Ken, was born to Rollin and Dorothy Reeder on April 11, 1937 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Later his father moved the family to Northern Michigan, where they purchased a small dairy farm. After graduating from High School, Ken attended Central Michigan University where he studied education. About this time, he married the love of his life, Patty Lou Blaugh. Upon leaving Central Michigan, they moved to Okemos, Michigan where he and his brother, Will, went into business with Jim Paty selling farm machinery and auto parts. Later, he took up a career with American Breeders Services working with local dairy farmers for accelerated genetics.
Ken is survived by his wife Pat and five children, Sherri (Dave Hagerman), Joanna (Glenn Willard), Kenda (Barry Robinson), Karen (Troy Townsend) and Matthew (Tara Reeder), along with twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.
Ken loved the Lord with all his heart, which was evident by the way he lived his life. He was dedicated to his wife, Pat and to his family; all of which are walking with the Lord today. The legacy he leaves here on earth are those that he touched with the love of Christ including many from the community. His faith was unshakable even to his last breath.
Second to his faith, Ken loved nature and the outdoors, where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Out of his love for the outdoors True North Ministry was birthed, where he mentored men and women through sportsmen’s activities. This opened an opportunity for many to connect not only to nature but to God, our Creator. In addition, Ken had a heart for Youth Haven Ranch, a ministry which provides life-changing, Christ-centered experiences for disadvantaged children. Ken supported this ministry not only monetarily but through acts of service and was a member of their board during the 1980’s.
All are invited to join the Reeder family for a joyful memorial service at New Hope Church, 2170 East Saginaw Hwy, East Lansing, Michigan on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 starting with a viewing at 10:00 am and followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am.
