Its been a year since I lost you seems like yesterday my heart still breaks every day. I miss you so badly, not a moment goes by that I dont think of you. i know you are with Jesus find comfort in knowing that and look forward to the day when we can be together again. I often wondered about him over the years, in school he was my only true friend, we shared many experiences together and he was a great friend!! Just wanted to let you guys know I have been thinking about you all this whole week. Bobby was an amazing person, one of the best guys I have ever known. He did so much for me and my racing career. He helped me more then I could ever comprehend. He was my mentor and my friend. From the long nights at the race tracks, hotels and local race shops all around the country for those 6 years I raced karts all over the country and each weekend at ELKT with Bobby will always be one of the best memories of my of life. I will miss him a great deal, he meant a lot to me.
I am very sorry that I couldn't make the trip up there from Kansas City this weekend, but my heart and mind are there with you all. Godspeed Bubba.

Ben's Mom-
I am one of Ben's math teachers at Whitehills Elementary.  Just last week Ben was sharing with our math group that he was recently baptized. He told us that his parents waited to have him baptized so that he could make the decision for himself if he wanted to be baptized. When he shared this with us, you could tell how proud he was.
That same week he was telling us who his dad was and the fact that he graduated from East Lansing. I too am an East Lansing grad and I shared this with Ben. Ben then preceded to ask me if I knew his dad and you could just tell by the look on Ben's face when he asked me that of course I would know his dad, who wouldn't!?  Unfortunately I didn't know "Bobby" as Ben named him, yet Ben talked about him with such pride. 
I have enjoyed working with Ben. He is a positive addition to our math group!
I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I will pray that the love of God, your family, and friends with help you through this most tragic time and in the days and years ahead. 
Please let me or any other staff at Whitehills know what we can do to make Ben's transition back to school as healthy as possible.

What a shock!  I attended the PRI Show and briefly talked to Bobby there.  I always enjoyed the times I ran at ELKT.  And I especially remember how helpful Bob was when I brought my son-in-law and 2 grand sons to practice.  He really seemed to relate to the kids and they listened intently to his driving instructions.   He was a really good guy.  I wish you well in this most difficult time.

My 4 year old daughter Aubree loves watching Ben race and talked about Bob all of the time. She had to be at every one of the driver meetings to hear about the flags. She was so excited when Bob asked her to tell everyone what the "meatball flag" meant. I want to express my sincere condolences to you and Bobby's entire family. I am so heartbroken for this tragic loss! East Lansing lost a beautiful soul and he will be missed. Rest in peace Bobby.

You do not know me but I am a childhood friend of Bobby and his families.  I knew him when his family lived in Holt.  His mother used to care for my brother and I in the summer.  We spent many days at the kart track while his mom and dad worked at the track.  We sometimes would get to drive the go karts when customers were not around.  Very fond memories of the whole Hawn family.  My deepest sympathy for you and your family.

Bob was such a good person.  We believe he is on the fast track to heaven.  He was such a positive influence on Fabian, who always spoke highly of him after he visited your house, often with a big smile on his face.  hopefully you can find some comfort in these words from Thessalonians...
