Robert Thomas Cross

Robert T. Cross of Williamston, formerly of Lansing, age 86, passed away September 1, 2017. Robert was born March 20, 1931, Lansing, MI to Lee and Florence Cross. Bob worked with his father and brothers at Lee Cross and Son's Construction for many years. He then ventured to the State of Michigan where he worked for several years as the Building Maintenance Supervisor for the Capitol buildings, and retired from the State. He loved his Twin Oaks Tree Farm in Williamston, where he grew and sold specialty trees. For years he sold Christmas trees and vegetables in Lansing that he had grown on the Farm. He had a true passion for growing, nurturing and maintaining nature's beauty. He took great pride in his craftsmanship, from his stained glass pieces to the home he built in Williamston with the help of his sons and friends. He spent much of his free time at the family cottage in Evart as well as hunting and fishing all the lakes, rivers and streams he could. Bob loved to travel the world with his wife Katie, visiting National Parks throughout the United States and Historical landmarks both in and out of the country.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Cross.

Surviving is his wife, Katie; children, Bobby (Lori) Cross, Monty (Krista) Myles, Greg (Barb) Myles and Natasha Myles; grandchildren, Klarissa, Victoria, Devlin, Chloe, Jared, MJ, Mikhail, Westin, Georgia, Travis and Gregory; great-grandchildren, Addie and Grayson; nieces and nephews, Felicia, Regina and Richie Cross and Sheri (Brian) Berndale. and brothers, Richard (Fay) Cross and Larry Cross.

A Celebration of Life will be held noon, Wednesday, September 6, Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Ave, East Lansing with Harold DeMott officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
