Raymond Edward Pressick, 82, passed away on January 6, 2015. He was born in New Kensington, PA, on July 7, 1932. The only child of Florence and Fred Pressick, he grew up in Arnold, PA. He earned a degree in psychology from Pennsylvania State University. While attending Penn State he met Judith Ann Heller, the love of his life, at a pool outside of Pittsburgh. He served in the army as she pursued her dreams of dancing in New York. When he returned, he moved to Lansing, Michigan and was hired by General Motors as a chemical process engineer. He asked Judi to marry him in the Spring of 1957. After a ceremony in Pennsylvania on August 31, 1957, she joined him in Lansing. He earned a chemistry degree from Michigan State University. In February of 1965, Ray and Judi welcomed a son. He retired from General Motors in 1990 after working in the plating and waste treatment processes in Lansing. Ray’s love and joy has been his family. The hobbies he enjoyed include water skiing, weight lifting, running, reading, a finely manicured lawn, and sarcasm.
Ray is survived by his wife, Judi, son, David (Barbara), and a grandson, Steele.
He was his family’s Rafiki!
A memorial service will be held at Gorsline Runciman, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI 48823 on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 3 p.m. with visitation 2 hours prior.
