Peg was born on July 26th, 1924, and raised in North Canton, OH. After marrying Ed, they moved to East Lansing, MI, in 1955.
She was devoted to Ed, her sons, friends, church and community.
Starting from the time it was in the basement of a building on Abbott Road, Peg was a dedicated member of, and contributor to, St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and School (East Lansing, MI), as well as a decades long volunteer with the Mary Magdalen League at St. Lawrence/Sparrow Hospital (Lansing, MI).
Peg was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; brother, Bernie Gill (Barbara); sister, Mary Freeman (Giles); granddaughters, Tara Simon (Gary) and Stephanie Spears; and many dear members of her extended family.
Peg is survived by sons, Edwin, James (Larry Calvert), John (Sue Morris) and Joseph (Tim Knudsen); grandsons Erik (Lissa) and Scott; sisters, Helen (Eli), Sr. Susanne (Sisters of Humility of Mary), and Carol (Ralph); and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Peg will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with the rosary being prayed at 7:30 PM, at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes East Chapel, 1730 East Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI 48823. The Mass of Christian Burial will occur on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with a one-hour prior visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 955 Alton Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823. Following Mass, there will be a Rite of Committal at St. Joseph Cemetery, 2520 W Willow St., Lansing, MI 48917.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of "Edwin C Bergmann Memorial Scholarship" at Lansing Community College Foundation.
