Mom,

There are so many things I miss about you.
I miss your smile and laugh. 
I miss sitting and holding your hand.
I miss having you here to talk to. It makes me sad when I hear other people talking about their mom's and calling their mom's to do thing for them. I have found that there were so many things that I could talk to you about and no one else because it didn't mean anything to them.
I missed you when we went to get Wesley's senior pictures done and no one was excited about it but me.
I miss sitting in front of the fireplace in the dark looking at the lights on the Christmas tree and talking with you.
I miss hearing you sing Christmas songs. 
I miss just seeing you sitting at the table doing things.
I missed seeing you in the kitchen baking all those wonderful pies, cookies and candy.  Helping you make dinner.  I especially missed getting up early in the morning to help you  to get dinner started. The mom and daughter time and talks we had while everyone else was asleep. I really want to continue the christmas cookie baking with the kids but this year was just so hard.  That was something special you always did with us.  You didn't mind all the mess we made decorating cookies.  You had so much patience.
I feel your presents but it's hard not to have you here.  You were a gift from God and no one could ever replace you.  You have taught us all so much.  Some of the things we didn't realize until you were gone.  God truly blessed us. I just wish we would have had more time with you.

Merry Christmas Momma

Momma it's Christmas Eve and I am having a real hard time without you here. I have done pretty good for the past few months trying not to cry to much because I know you didn't want us to cry but the holidays have really gotten to me. I am so used to you being in the kitchen making the most amazing dinners ever. Since you have been gone me and Linda have had to step in and try to get the holiday dinners done, but it will never compare to yours. Dad is making lasagna for Christmas dinner. Jayden of course is getting big and still loves to visit with you and give you nice kisses I just wish you were able to feel them. He loves his great-grandma. Jordan and Trey are making it but sad as well this holiday season. Jordan was just talking about how you and him were suppost to go to Vegas for his 21st birthday. I'm still going to school and keeping my grades up through all the chaos in life but I will not give up thank god you made me stubborn and determined like you. Well our house is full of love and memories of you we all think and talk about you all the time and that will never change. Caroline bought me some beautiful gifts from you for Christmas but it was harder than anyone can imagine reading the note on the gifts. Well soon it will be a year since you passed and it feels like eternity since I have seen your smile, heard your laughter, hugged you, or even talked to you on the phone. I am greatful for the time God allowed us to enjoy you, but I'm still trying to figure out why he needed you so soon. You would be proud me, Frankie, the boys, Elysha, and Jayden are all going to church trying to change life a bit I'm sure you already know this cuz you are god's angel I just hope he doesn't have you working to hard. Well momma I know that you are spending Christmas with Jesus this year and for many more but one day we will all be in heaven and able to spend christmas as a family again until then please continue to watch over us and give us the strength, guidance, and support you always have to make it without you. R.I.P momma I'm sure heaven is beautiful and you are the most beautiful angel up there. Love you more than life itself.

Well honey, it's Christmas 10 months since your passing and nothing seems the same I know you didn't want a fuss about you  but everything is about you. I hold your ashes on my lap a lot I still talk so I hope you listen. I bought you flowers I know you would have liked. Your new home is not yet done but soon I hope. I am trying my best to keep myself and everything in order but not always so easy. Not a day goes by that something I do or say don't remind me of you. I always look for a sign from you but I guess it is not possible. I miss our walks, talks, gambling, trips and all the other things else we did. I would give anything to have an argument with you and would not care if I lost. Being a wife, lover, friend, a mother, and grandma was a job you were very good at. The pain you went through must have been the worst possible pain I do not want to know or ever know. I don't know what to do for New Years it was always Atlantic City for us, or Brimley, then Mount Pleasant. The kids have a little problem with school but are starting to turn it around. My life is in limbo and may stay that way till a certain person can meet your standards. So I know holidays mean nothing to you but I will still make or have a big dinner for most all holidays. So long my love, the can man, end for now.

All the busyness of life

Moms are pro's at keeping it real.

We danced through any rain that came our way

Mom's passing was
The biggest "heart quake" of all.

To Norma's Family,
My name is Marvin Egner I am Robert Farr's cousin, our mothers were sisters.
I would like to say to Norma's Family and friends that I have always enjoyed her company whenever I had the opportunity to visit with her.
Norma has always impressed me as a very sincere person of great quality. She thought highly of relationships with others. This was so evident each time she came with Bob to visit my mother and father over in Flint. She arrived again with that smile and a hug.
I can never remember a time when she did not have that smile on her face. I am guessing now that it was always present, ALWAYS. Well maybe it faded slightly when she had to issue guidance to her perfect children or possibly to her husband Bob, another perfect individual. It's at these times I could imagine a few sparks being seen. Not lasting long before the smile returned.
One of my most happy memories is fishing at camp Wakami Lake in Northern Ontario. I hate to admit it but she was probably the best sportsman with the most fish. It truly was a good time with good fish, good family, and good friends.

              ALL ABOUT NORMA
NORMA WAS A KIND AND GENTLE PERSON. WE CAMPED BY HER AND BOB FOR MANY YEARS AT THE MANTON CAMPGROUND. SHE WAS ALWAYS HELPING SOMEONE IT SEEMS, AND IT WAS USUALLY THE "OLDER FOLKS".
ANY TIME SHE BAKED ANYTHING WE COULD COUNT ON A PIECE OF IT TO HAVE AT OUR FIRE THAT NIGHT.
WHEN SHE SAW THE OLD (VERY OLD) BLANKETS WE USED AT OUR CAMPFIRE, SHE WENT HOME AND MADE US ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL ONES TO REPLACE THEM. WE DIDN'T WANT TO USE THEM AT OUR CAMPFIRE BECAUSE THEY WERE SO NICE, BUT YOU CAN BET NORMA CAME MARCHING OVER TO FIND OUT WHY WE WERE NOT USING THEM. WE TOLD HER THEY WERE MUCH TOO NICE TO USE AT A CAMPFIRE. SHE JUST LAUGHED.
I USE THE BLANKETS ALL THE TIME AT HOME, WHERE THERE ARE NO CAMPFIRE SPARKS TO MAKE A HOLE IN THEM. 
   
THE WORLD WILL MISS SUCH A LOVELY PERSON.

I was asked by my cousins if I could write some fun memories of my Aunt Norma. Well lets see where do I start.
Aunt Norma remember the time when we were going to Florida and everyone in the vehicle was sleeping. It was your shift to take the wheel and I was suppose to make sure you stayed awake. Well we both listened to the radio, every now and then the station would static and would catch us both off guard and one of us would be singing the wrong words..... I remember we both would laugh at each other.
Another time and another vacation us girls were lying on the beach soaking up some raze. And of course you always thinking you have to be naked... A helicopter kept flying over head with a  load of Rangers all staring (laughing out loud)
But I do remember the time when Linda was having a birthday party we were all cleaning up the house. I was upstairs getting presents and you were on the stairs vacuuming. I tripped and started falling and you came up the stairs to break my fall and you ended up tumbling all the way down and hitting your head on the vacuum cleaner. Sorry for that.
I only remember you getting really mad at me once and that was when me and Bruce got into a fight and I pulled hi hair out and you come chasing me with the frying pan. I ran and ran around the car outside then got the smart idea that if I climbed in the car and locked the doors I would be safe. Well all that did was get you madder. Sorry for that too.
Something that I will always treasure is that you always treated us kids equal and always excepted me and my siblings like we were your own. I always felt at peace and still do when I enter your home. I always felt safe there and always felt welcome.
You have got to be the Bravest Women I have ever known and the Strongest. You taught me everything there was to know about being a homemaker. The sewing projects, crochet, gardening, baking, etc....
As we both grew older, me becoming an adult and marrying and having my children we lost the closeness that we shared along with my cousins. It's like we think that everyone will be there until eternity physically. I am sorry for that...But can promise you this, until we meet again in another space an time I will try my best to make sure to have myself available to help your kids (my cousins) as much as I possibly can and hope that I can bring laughter and joy in their hearts to soften the pain that their enduring since you've left this plain. I Love You

Norma was a kind and sweet lady. She always had pride in her children and grandchildren and their latest accomplishments. You could see her glow as she talked about them, worried about them or were happy for them.
No matter what she was doing she always had the way to make me feel welcome and meant it, even though I know I was interrupting her at the moment. She brought over her prize jams for us to enjoy, table doilies she had made, and other generous surprises.
I enjoyed when we visited her at the campgrounds and listen to the pride she had put into the flowers and her bird feeders. The care and worry of her fellow campmates she used to fret over and want to help.
I loved her determination and spunk- like the time when they were leaving one campground and she pulled up all her flowers. I can just hear her spitting and sputtering about anyone getting her flowers!
I will always remember the visits, conversations, and little trips we took.

I remember the time Bob, Norma and I went to Atlantic City together. We had visited the buffet and of course Bob stuffed himself with shrimp and other goodies. After we went to the room, Bob determined that he needed to walk off the food. Norma said to be sure we came back to get her before going to the casino. Well, we almost passed the craps table and ended up playing and hitting for a couple hours. Needless to say Norma was quite upset when we returned to the room. She was still angry about this some 25 years later and continued to voice her opinion on that subject. It always made me laugh how she never got over it!
Again in Atlantic City, Norma had hit one of her big ones on the slot machines. She was shopping and offered to buy me a nice jacket they had, although I refused the jacket I never forgot the gift of the offer.

Norma was very special to us in many ways. We were camping companions. We would stop and visit them at Manton campground, we taught them to play rummikub and Norma loved that game. We had a lot of fun times with Norma, she was one hell of a cook. We miss her a lot.

We knew Norma from camping in Manton, MI. her talents of crafting, gardening and cooking were shared with fellow campers. Our Condolences go to Norma's family. Cully & Sue Taylor

To Farr Family,
I remember when Bob & Norma were working hard to save for a down payment on their home and it seems every week Norma would get a little upset because their goal amounts just seem so far away and it was taking so long. Finally they got the money and found a home and moved into it. They have been their every since.

Mom,
Every day is a memory of how mom used to do this and if mom were here we would be doing this. As the holidays approach it becomes more difficult without you.  None of us want to do it without you but we know we must go on and do it for the kids.  Even though I spent alot of time with you in the kitchen helping to prepare holiday and even everyday meals.  It's hard to make it the way mom did.  Your not here to say a little more of this or just add that.  Dad has been a sport telling us it taste ok but knowing it's not the same as mom's.  Last night when he called me crying I could barely understand him.  Then I heard it in the background "GOODBYE NORMA JEAN", the song that plays all the time when dad gets in the car to go somewhere.  We know it is your sign to tell him you are with him.  He has tried to continue doing the things you asked without you but he just doesn't enjoy them as much without you.  He continues to go and see Arvid, checking in on him and having pizza and a lunch cake while enjoying WWE wrestling together.  Dad knows Arvid's time is also short.  
Mom, you are so very loved and missed.  Please be close to all of us this next few months as we prepare for the holidays and then as the one year reminder of your death approaches.  Love and miss you so very much.

No one knows the tears and sadness I have felt since losing to me the best woman in the world and no regrets. I would like your guidance in finding a companion to do some of the things we shared for the rest of my time before we rejoin in what is in the next life. I will always try to keep all promises I made to you. Till then my love for you could never change. The talks we have help me, but I wish you could answer, the rides in the car I hope you would still enjoy. When it's my turn help me find you in any shape or form you now have. May God watch over you for he got the most beautiful angel in heaven one you deserve. You know the love I have for you could be said in many ways and all would fit to a beautiful person as you. While I write with so many tears I know it does not seem like me but BELIEVE I will shed many more. I hope I did all things that you wanted. No matter what I wish I could have made transition speedier.

I can't believe after 9 months the emptiness I feel I am now in the middle of deer hunting and it doesn't feel the same without you. Our anniversary has come and gone which was so far the second worse day to get through with many of tears even now while trying to write my eyes are full of tears not like me I know, with three more holidays coming and many thoughts and memories we enjoyed together in those times. The time has come of feeling lonely which you could have done better than me,that was one of your best traits. Not a day goes by that something I hear or see reminds me of you. I still am awaiting the sign from you I will always wait to let me know you're still there to help me do the right things. I do what I think is right and I am trying to keep my promise in keeping our family in a happy home not an easy job. I have tried to keep gambling and camping which is a little costly. I still have your phone and you were right, I have needed it twice as usual I lost mine. I do not like being alone but it's not easy to find anyone even close on holding a candle to you. The kids are trying to step up their game. The grandkids are trying but one needs a little encouragement by all if you can please help us. I never thought of life without you and wish I could have taken your place, but it was not to be. May you rest in peace and I hope to have your urn done soon.

Mom its the day before opener of gun season and you are missed so much..I have had wonderful bow season taking you out with me every hunt on the shirt with you on it and you close to my hart making sure i dress warm enough so you don't get cold..You know what i miss most of all is coming over and talking to you about how my hunt,fishing trip,and even just how your day is going.They say that it gets easier with time but i have to say is that i don't think that day will come for me because you were the best mom and friend anybody could ever have..May god wrap his arms around you and give you a hug and kiss for me..Hugs and Kisses your son

Today is your special day momma Happy Birthday to the most amazing woman God created. Though today should be happy we are all sad and hurting like crazy  missing you it feels like its been years since we have held you or seen your smile when in reality its only been a little over four months. They say as time passes it gets easier but I guess that only happens when the person who passes has not had such an impact on so many lives, not sure but for us its not getting any easier. I know its not your fault because you would have never wanted to see us hurt but hopefully whatever God has in his plans for you we are all included. Love you more than words could ever express I hope you enjoy your memorial service we have planned for you even though you are not here in physical appearance I know you will be with each and everyone of us that day and every day after. Please continue to guide us all to be the persons you would have wanted us to be. Love you always and forever momma till we meet again at that pearly gate in heaven.

Mom, 
Everything is finally coming together.  Everything has been ordered, food is planned, place is reserved.  Just wish you were here to help.  But then if you were we wouldn't be doing this.  Mom you are worth so much more.  I just hope that we are doing you justice.  As your birthday approaches my sorrow increases.  I hope that we are doing you proud.  Both occasions will be sad as we mark your loving life next week and how much we love and miss you.  Every day I realize just how much I really miss you and can't believe you're gone from your earthly body. Wish I could feel your touch. But your love surrounds me.  The boys will miss all your wonderful teachings.  I only wish that I can be half the woman you were because no one could ever come close to the woman you are.

Mom it has been 3 months and 3 days since god called on you to become his beautiful angel and it feels like the longest 3 months of my life without you here. For mother's day Me and Linda worked on your flower beds weeding because that's what you would have doneif you were here. We are planning a beautiful memorial service for you to keep all the memories alive and to reminisce on all the hearts and lives you touched with your special smile and love you shared with so many. Dad bought your flowers of course he didn't forget. Jayden loves to walk up to your urn and say hi and kiss you on a daily basis when he is here as well as kissing and hugging your picture he knows that's his great-grandma and that he to was very much loved by you. Love and Miss you more than words can say hope you are pain free and stress free in the hands of the lord. Love you momma
P.S. my daddy got the garden planted and he listened to you once in a while telling him to get out of the heat before he had a heart attack : )

Norma was a wonderful friend. Without her with us growing up Beaver Street would not have been the same.  As our lives changed, we grew apart.  The hand signed Christmas greeting was always letting me know she cared. She is now pain free.  May God be with you and your family in this most sorrowful time.

My world is empty without you.  It's been a week now so I thought I would take you in my heart and go for a bike ride.  I could have thought I heard you say "don't you think it's a little cold".  But we went anyway.  I talked, you listened, I got a tear and you got cold.  We didn't make much money but we didn't go far.  I listened to you and decided it was to cold so yes dear we went home and I built a fire.  I hope your warm now.

Grandma,
I remember when we would sit for hours just watching "The Land Before Time". When we were up in Manton at the campground, I would always wake up to see you making a hot breakfast.  After breakfast you would take me to the park for awhile.  When we got done we would go back to the campsite to help papa clean the fish he caught that morning.  After awhile we would go to the dam to go fishing.  I always remember her walking to the ice cream shop while I was fishing to get some ice cream for the both of us.  Love and miss you grandma. Mom as I laid there beside you and held your hand each and every day.  I was praying for a miracle.  How could God take one more away?  You stayed strong through it all,  but you always were the strong one.  I must thank God who gave us an extra eleven months with you. 
 But then there came the day, When I sat there beside you, Could you feel me there?  My arms were wrapped around you,  And I was stroking your hair.  I was talking about all the good times, For me they were every single day. You taught us all so much. I wanted you to feel love and comfort, And happy in some way.  I watched your every breath, And prayed that each one wasn't your last.  The time we got to share together, Went by too quick...Too fast.  I wanted you to see me there.  Please Mom... Tell me this is a nightmare, and not our last goodbye.  As your last breath grew closer, we sat there peacefully together.  My heart continually breaking, because I wanted you forever.  Then there it was, your final breath of air.  I didn't want to believe it, this is so cruel and unfair.  I held your beautiful hand, and prayed you'd breath again.  I wasn't ready for you to go, I couldn't admit that this was the end.  But then I realized that you were now at peace, no more suffering.  You were beginning your new life as an Angel.  I held you close and tried to say goodbye.  I've lost my MOM and all my heart could do is cry.  Mom you are my entire world and I miss you so very much.  I wish I could see your beautiful smile,  hear your fun filled laughter and feel your warm arms embrace.  But for now I have to wait, until we meet again. Norma,
A beautiful woman I had the luck to be married too.  With tear's in my eyes and an empty heart with your passing I will always remember your smile, your wit, and the love you have shown to all you touched.  The times we shared in everything we did, everywhere we traveled to with all the kids, nieces, nephews and friends.  The times we fought and argued then forgot and made up.  I am truly sorry for all my bad habits you put up with that I went through.  You always stayed by my side when anybody else would have left.  The fun we shared betting on the horse races, hunting, fishing, berry picking, mushrooming, cherry picking, apple picking, long walks, bottle picking and bicycling.  Going to casinos all over the state, Atlantic City (to many times to count), Vegas, Reno, and Mississippi.  I always bought the nicest clothes to make you look sharp.  You never disappointed.  You always spoke your mind to all and never held back.  We have had some good friends, some caring friends, and some who would do anything for us.  I did the best to provide the best care I could while you were ill. I now wonder if it's real as it will take me time to get used to living without the best wife a man can be proud to spend 46 years married and four years together with no regrets.  I could have never ever done better if I tried.  So I hope your pain is gone and I wait my turn when we meet again.  I have always loved you which I always will till then.

 You maybe gone in physical form but now of light of eternal life. Naked to our eyes of sight only a dimension apart. While your short visit here on Planet Earth you have taught me and so many others how to live life taking care of her, along with treasured memories I will never forget. You taught me how to survive through life skills in the great outdoors along with being a homemaker involving sewing and baking, gardening,canning etc... I meant what I said about never knowing another woman who is so full of strenght and courage. You have touched my life and was a prefect guide. I only hope that we all continue to teach for generations to come as you taught me how to live life simply and just be happy with what I have. We will miss you. Our holiday dinners that you made so good. All the smiles and things we did together. we will never forget all the times you made all of us kids laugh. we will miss going up north and spending time with you and grandpa we will still go with grandpa but things will not be the same for him or us without you. Mom you are and will always be the most courageous and strongest woman I know. You were my rock, you tought all of us including your grandchildren and great grandson how to love and be strong. We love you more than life itself and if love alone would have saved you, you never would have died. Your physical being is no longer here but your spirit, love, strength and beauty live on in each and everyone of us. As I look through the photos of us together.. Aunt Norma loved her family like no other mother I've ever known. Her love for her kids was deeply loyal...I hope you all cherish that love and that it helps you to guide you thru the pain. She was a wonderful woman. I'm sure she will be watching over all of you....Love Trish

I loved my Aunt Norma very much and am glad I had one last chance to see her and not only have my family meet her but to have her meet my husband and daughter when we were in Lansing.  She was an amazing woman and will be missed very much.  Love always.

Aunt Norma I remember spending so much time with you when I was a little girl. You were always so nice and loving to me like I was your own daughter. You would always let me help you make christmas cookies and help with the garden. We would always play board games together. We lost touch as I grew older unfortunatley. I wish I could have been there for you when you needed. I know that you are with grandma now and pain free. I hope to be with you again someday and start again where we left off. Aunt Norma was a woman of love and compassion. That pretty smile and the love that would show through her eyes when she looked at me made me feel like I was the most special person.  She was a happy and funny lady. She loved to laugh and it was very contagious. I know she is with God now. I also know she is with loved ones from family that has preceeded her. I know she will shine on all of her family and she will always be protecting and guiding them. Rest In Peace Aunt Norma.  I love you, Debbie
