Nadine Marie Brant, age 82, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021. Nadine was born January 30, 1939 in Lansing to Deward and Evelyn (Spear) Christmas. She began her working career as a school bus driver, than shifted gears and worked on the line at GM for 25 years.
Throughout her life, Nadine was an excellent bowler in the mid-Michigan area, playing on leagues at all the local bowling alleys and even participating in National Championships. She loved to play cards, especially Euchre. She enjoyed her trips to the casinos, and shared that experience with each of her grandchildren on their 18th birthdays. She belonged to many organizations, and was an active member of the DeWitt Moose Lodge (#2291), the VFW, the American Legion Post 412 in Bath, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Post 1039 in Lansing. Nadine loved being with her family, and she loved holding her grandbabies... and great-grandbabies... and even great-great-grandbabies!
She was preceded in death by her son, Randy Clayton Canfield; her grandson, Freddy Garza; her husband, Everett M. Brandt; her parents; and her sisters, Virginia Antes, Mary Barnart, and Nancy Sump.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kim (Charles) Hopkins, Tamayra (Wayne) Beckner, Terry Canfield, and Rick (Laura) Canfield; her 20 grandchildren, her 34 great-grandchildren; her 7 great-great-grandchildren; her siblings, Wesley Christmas, Judy Clise, Deward Christmas, Frank Christmas, Terry Christmas, Jerry Christmas, Pam Knapp; many nieces, nephews, a large extended family, and a community of dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 4pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave. in East Lansing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 6 from 2pm until 4pm, and again from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
