Born July 6, 1924, the last of 14 children to Ernest and Lena Ames in Eldora, IA. Murriel worked tirelessly for 54 years for Okemos Dry Cleaners which she co-owned with her husband, Glen. She volunteered for the Haslett American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; she was a Lifetime Member of the Perry VFW. Murriel enjoyed bingo, traveling, spending time with her dogs and going to the Casino. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Miller of 51 years; 13 brothers and sisters and her parents. She is survived by Rodney of Perry, Randd (Katie Noel) of Mulliken, Brian (Wanda) of Haslett and Brent of Okemos; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 26, at Noon at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing with Dr. Bob R. Nappier, Associate Pastor of Parker Memorial Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memory Garden, Okemos. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 25, 5-8 p.m. at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Haslett American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Post 269, 1485 Haslett Rd, Haslett, MI 48840, in memory of Murriel.
