Okemos, Michigan
Megan went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on December 27, 2010 at the age
of 22 years old. She died happy doing what she loved, spending time and snowmobiling
with the love of her life Phil Anderson.
Megan was born February 19, 1988, to Martin and Patti Schoenmaker in Providence
Rhode Island. Megan recently graduated from Rasmussen College School of Nursing
in Ocala, Florida. She was looking forward to a career in women’s health, for which
she had a real passion. Her “daddy” an OB/Gyn physician was very proud of this.
Megan had a love of horseback riding, especially with her BFF Madison Foote. She was
an animal lover. She donated her horse Prince to a therapeutic riding facility. Her
loyal rescue dog Dirck is going to miss her daily loving.
She will be deeply missed by her dad and mentor, Martin and her mom and best friend,
Patti. Her life, long friend and brother Kyle will miss the love and advise only an older
sister can provide. She will be missed by the love of her life, Phil – they were to be
engaged this summer. She is also survived by her grandparents, Jerry and Lany
Schoenmaker and Dave and Evelyn Fiet, and many close cousins, aunts and uncles that
will miss the great times spent together. Megan has friends all over the United
States who will miss her but remember her fondly.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Riverview Church, 3585
Willoughby Rd, Holt, Michigan, at 5:00 p.m. Visitation for be at the church from 3:00-
