Mary Ann Nash passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the age of 100. She was born on June 8, 1915 to Andrew and Rosalie (Reidus) Toman in St. Charles, MI. Mary Ann graduated from St. Charles High School and married William G. Nash (U.S. Marine Corps) in 1941 just days after the attack on Pearl Harbor. After the war they raised their family in the Battle Creek area. Mary Ann was a loving mother and dedicated caregiver, spending much of her life giving back to others. She embodied the spirit of “The Greatest Generation” through her hard work, sacrifice, independence, values, and her devotion to family.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers (Everett and William) and three sisters (Agnes, Amelia and Stefi).
She will be lovingly remembered by sons, William C. (Patricia) Nash and Dean F. (Patricia) Nash; grandchildren, Kimberly (Richard) Hansen, Mindy (Daniel) McCaffrey, Kristin (David) Vandermyde, Jeffrey (Laura) Nash, Lauren Nash, and Allyson Nash; her ten great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-County Office on Aging, 5303 S. Cedar St., Lansing, MI 48911-9955.
