Mary Ann Michaels of Haslett, MI, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin on June 27, 1941, and was welcomed into eternal life on Friday, February 24, 2023.
Mary was a resident of Okemos for 32 years before moving to Haslett. She and her husband, Garry, were Charter Members of St. Martha Catholic Church. Mary worked for 25 years at Michigan State University Stores as an editor and after retirement, enjoyed volunteering in the Family Lounge at McLaren Greater Lansing, traveling abroad, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Anne (Scott) Brodeur, Christopher (Carrie) Michaels, Gregory (Jennifer) Michaels and six precious gifts – her grandchildren: Madison Brodeur, Morgyn Michaels, Rylee Michaels, Tyler Michaels, JD Michaels and John Michaels. She is also survived by two sisters, Pat (Terry) Wegner with whom she shared a special bond, Sue Gothe, and several nieces and nephews. As it is said, “Friends make the best parents.” Mary cherished the wonderful friendships she made throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Garry, her parents, and brother, Peter.
A visitation for Mary will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 from 12:00pm until the time of the Celebration of Life at 2:00pm. The family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, Haven House, or Capital Area Humane Society.
