Mary Margaret McNeely

Mary Margaret McNeely, age 92 of Okemos MI passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 with family by her side. She was born on February 7, 1928 in Detroit to Bert and Anna LaBram. She attended St. Cecelia High School where she met the love of her life Robert McNeely and the two were married in 1945 at the age of 17. After High School she had a successful career as a claims adjuster for Home Mutual and Secura Insurance Companies. During her retirement she enjoyed traveling the country with her husband Bob, especially spending winters in Destin, Florida. She was an avid sports fan and never missed watching a Tigers baseball game or an MSU football game. She enjoyed going to the American Legion Post 269 in Haslett where she was a tough opponent on the shuffle board league. She attended many Tuesday & Thursday lunches at the Meridian Township Senior Center where she loved to call Bingo. Anyone that knew Mary was very aware of her love for Boston Terriers, her constant companions after her husband passed away. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bob McNeely, her parents and her siblings Betty & Bert.

She is survived by her sons, Bob & Mike McNeely; daughter, Gail McNeely; Grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Roth, Bob (Kimberly) Glinsky, Don McNeely, Sean McNeely & Patrick McNeely; Great-Grandchildren, Riley, Paige, Kaia & Tessa; Sister Carolyn; numerous nieces & nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 12th at 1pm, with the family receiving friends beginning at Noon at St. Martha’s Catholic Church, 1100 W. Grand River Avenue, Okemos.
