Born March 22, 1919 in Lansing to Irving and Elizabeth McKeon, passed away, May 22, 2013 at the age of 94. Mary was an Accounting Clerk for the Federal Highway Administration for 34 years. She was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School and was the first female tennis player on the Men’s Team. Mary was inducted into the Greater Lansing Hall of Fame for tennis, softball and bowling in 1981. In 1987 she was inducted into Lansing Bowling Hall of Fame. Mary also was an avid MSU Football Fan. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Donna Griswold. She is survived by her niece, Jeannine Mitchell of Haslett; great nieces and nephews, Michael and Linda Mitchell of Perry, Mary Mitchell and Ken Feher of Haslett, Kathleen and Michael Johnson of New Hampshire, Julie Mitchell and Thomas Learmonth of Vermont, Timothy Mitchell and Susan Isler of Ohio, Patricia and Jon Dennis of Australia; great-great nieces and nephews, Matthew Mitchell and Michael Crosby of Lansing, Adam and Jen Johnson of New Hampshire, Paul Johnson of Washington State, Kate and Andrew Collins of Lansing, Joanna Mitchell of Maryland, Ryan Johnson of New Hampshire, Leigh Mitchell of Ohio, Rachel Dennis of Australia, Asa Learmonth of Vermont, and Elijah Dennis of Australia and one great-great-great nephew, Jameson Collins of Lansing.
A funeral service will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing on Saturday, May 25, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Thurman Payton officiating.
