Margaret Irene Morgan Baldwin, age 70, of Okemos, Michigan and Petoskey, Michigan passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022. She was born January 8, 1952, in Akron, Ohio to Roger Francis Morgan and Mary Cotter Morgan. Peggy received a Bachelor's Degree in Exceptional Education from State University College of New York at Buffalo; a Master's Degree in Reading from the State University of New York, Albany, and a Doctorate in Higher Education from the College of William and Mary. She enjoyed a long and successful career as a teacher and school administrator in Newport News, VA; Waverly Schools, Lansing, MI and Okemos, MI. She was a much admired school administrator and was called out of retirement as an interim school administrator.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Roger G. Baldwin; sisters, Ann, Susan and Patrice Morgan; nieces, Eve, Megan and Ellen; nephews, Eric and Peter; two greatnieces, one greatnephew, and countless educators and students whose lives she touched during her long and distinguished career. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved bulldogs, Doris and Vivian.
Peggy had a wonderful sense of humor and a love of travel with her husband. She had a fine artist's eye, especially in her exquisite needlepoint and cross-stitch. She was also a daily devotee of the New York Times crossword puzzle.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Michigan State University Alumni Chapel, 636 Auditorium Road, East Lansing, MI 48824.
