Born on May 8, 1948, in Durand, Michigan, to parents Harmon (Hazel) Lewis. Lloyd was known for his humorous spirit and kind heart. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, fondly remembered as "Handsome Grandpa."
Professionally, Lloyd navigated the role as an employee and employer throughout his career. Some of his professional achievements were at Simplicity, Co-Owner of Central Michigan Tool, and Hartman-Fabco Inc. Ultimately ending as a salesman at Hartman-Fabco Inc., where he was renowned for his ability to forge trusting relationships with clients. His work took him across various locations, allowing him to touch many lives with his dedication and hard work.
An active member of the St. Thomas Aquinas congregation in East Lansing, Michigan, Lloyd devoted his time to ushering during Mass and was committed to the community.
Lloyd's passions included cars, which he kept in immaculate condition, and enjoying the outdoors through hunting and fishing trips, often more for the camaraderie and card games than the catch itself. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Michigan State Spartans Hockey Program as a past season ticket holder at Munn Ice Arena , and never missed a chance to support the Detroit Red Wings. Lloyd also cherished holiday seasons, going above and beyond in decorating and spreading cheer.
His love for entertainment was vast, encompassing classic westerns starring the Duke or his favorite "The Outlaw of Josey Wales", sitcoms like "The Andy Griffith Show","Two and Half Men" , and "The Big Bang Theory," and a variety of music ranging from Lynyrd Skynyrd to instrumental jazz. Lloyd also enjoyed the simple pleasures of a good cigar and a can of Coca Cola.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Debra (Losen) Lewis; children, Renee (Micheal) McClellan, Amy (Eric) Merrill, Harmon (Michelle) Lewis, Erin (John) Smithingell, Ryan (Shazalina) Lewis, Mary Beth (Cole) Schneeberger, and Nikki Lewis; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lynn (Roberta) Lewis, Lee (Karen) Lewis, and Cheryl (Robert) Zimmerman.
Lloyd’s family and friends can find comfort in the knowledge that Lloyd knew who his savior Jesus was and what Jesus had done for him. Lloyd believed in the promise of his savior Jesus who said “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved” (Mark 16:16). Lloyd believed and therefore Lloyd has been saved. As we mourn our loss, we also celebrate his victory in Jesus.
